Asha Bhosle Funeral: Son Anand Urges Fans to Avoid Crowd at Shivaji Park; Says 'Avoid Overcrowding' (X)
Mumbai: Legendary singer Asha Bhosle has passed away in Mumbai at the age of 92 on Sunday, marking the end of an era in Indian music. The veteran singer was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday due to chest infection and respiratory problems. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 4 pm at Shivaji Park and her son Anand Bhosle has urged fans to avoid gathering at the funeral venue.
Her passing marks the end of a melodious era in Indian cinema, one she helped create with her versatile talents.
On Sunday morning, Asha Bhosle's son Anand Bhosle confirmed her demise. Later, he again addressed the media, sharing that people would be allowed to pay their last respects to the late singer between 10:30 am and 2 pm at her residence in Lower Parel, Mumbai.
During the briefing, Anand was accompanied by Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar.
“Tomorrow, from 10:30 am to 2 pm, people can come and take the last darshan of my mother at the Casa Grande building. At 4 pm, her last rites will be performed at the crematorium. I request people not to gather there, as there are chances of overcrowding,” Anand Bhosle said in Hindi.

On Sunday, Asha Bhosle's son Anand Bhosle confirmed the news of her death and said, "She is no more. My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects to her at 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande, Lower Parel, where she lived. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm tomorrow at Shivaji Park."
The singer's body will be kept for public viewing at her home in Lower Parel at 10:30 am on Monday.
The last rites of Asha Bhosle will be performed on Monday at Shivaji Park in Dadar at 4 pm, the same place where her sister Lata Mangeshkar was also cremated.
Asha Bhosle died of multi-organ failure, the family and hospital management said.
Dr. Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy Hospital said that due to multi-organ failure Asha Bhosle passed away.
Dr. Samdani said that Asha Bhosle was immediately brought to the hospital after she suffered a cardiac arrest. She was treated in the hospital's Emergency Medical Services Unit, but could not be saved due to multiple organ failure.
